The famous Mermaid of Copenhagen... the poor girl has been decapitated twice, had an arm forcibly amputated, her throat's been cut, she's been drenched with paint several times, dressed in a burqua or two, made to brandish a dildo and even blown up and cast into the harbour. Not bad for such an iconic statue. Seeing the mermaid was another strike from my childhood bucket list of things around the world I wanted to see but never thought I would.
Round the corner from her sits Zinkglobal.

"The metal man on the key is called "The Global Visionary" and the key is intended to symbolize the key to the future. It encourages to think more global, future-proof and outside the box." A bit of a shame Zinkglobal seems so glum and despairing about the global future.
Inescapable Jensen..

My first act on arrival in Copenhagen, being somewhat hungry, was to seek out herrings.

I had such a craving for herring, but no worries... there was a herring buffet available.

All you can eat herring, garnished with capers and pork crackling. I had two helpings, and was tempted to have a third but restrained myself.

Swords and machine-guns in the royal district.

In the old fortress...

Valkyrie!

Of course, a visit to Copenhagen is not complete without a visit to Tivoli Gardens - fairy tale like experiences for all ages.

Urgh... I'm not a fan of fairground rides to be honest.

We only had a couple of days in Copenhagen, enough to bimble and eat tasty foods.

But a lovely break. How does that song go? Wonderful, wonderful, Copenhagan! Dirty old man of the town!
Something like that I think?
