I've probably forgotten someone. Apologies, I have (naturally) returned with a fuzzy-head inducing cold, but then it was -7!

My Christian boyfriend comes in useful when looking at this sort of thing; he knows his winged lion of St. Mark from his rood screen and suchlike. (His first guess was Mary, clues being the crown (Queen of Heaven) the white (virginal) dress with a kingly robe over it, the roses on part of the robe because that's her flower, and the loaf in her hand, is because the feast of Assumption, the day she ascended to Heaven, is in August so has sort of harvesty associations. However, further research suggests it's actually Elizabeth of Hungary, who had a miracle involving roses and bread.)
