Back on Track...

Made a proper start on SpaceGoth over the weekend. Here's the new heroine...



I'll probably make alterations to her clothes over time, but for the moment she's ready and waiting to get going.
Shame she doesn't have a spaceship yet....that'll be the next task. :-)

She should get changes of clothes over time, one thing that irritates me on some sci-fi shows is how characters seem to wear the same suit, month after month, I mean, it must get pretty rancid on some spaceships! :-)

I mean, I put green highlights in my hair over the weekend, but how much cooler it would be if they'd glow. I have a friend who's a biochemist, but she doesn't seem to be able to provide any practical help. I think a few spare strands of jellyfish DNA would be a small price to pay for glowing hair ...

It's something I wish for too, I've got a goth hairpiece that has synthetic hair that glows under UV light, but it's a poor substitute. The whole hair-dyeing thing tends to be a disappointment for me, I never get the colours I want. One of these days I'm just going to freak out and buy a wig. (http://www.snarlhair.co.uk/)

When my hair's fresh-bleached I get a bit of a UV glow anyway -- back when I was usually fuzzy, I did get some wigs, but they're never nice to wear, hot sweaty, uncomfortable ... plus, there's only so many times you want to hear a stranger saying, "you're a bloke, aren't you?"

and you're right, UV glow isn't any substitute ... I've got some thread and flower lights, but the trouble with them is stowing the battery pack ... which brings you back to wigs again ...
