Some pretty pics...

Getting ready for the Sakura Club last Friday.
A rare opportunity to wear the kimono I picked up in Kyoto a few years ago. Though one of the reasons it rarely gets aired is that I've no idea how to put the damn thing on! Luckily Min was on hand to sort me out...
(Kimono-wrangling photos by Laura.)

Ready! I think this pure silk kimono only cost me about 30 quid at the time. Second hand (and, er... it does have a couple of stains from the previous owner!) I'd been told at the time that the Japanese dislike buying second hand, hence the ridiculous cheapness of such a gorgeous item. However Min told me there is a further superstition in Japan to never wear a dead persons clothes or items, as they'll be haunted. I may have a haunted kimono. Luckily I'm too thick skinned to worry about such things.

Maybe just another glass before going...

There are no more photos from me after this as I was way too tipsy to take pics in a darkened, candlelit club! Luckily the club photographer was on hand...(click the photos to go to his Flickr set.)

From way back to last October, the Guildhall Neo-Victorian Gothic Ball and 'Victoriana: The Art of Revival' exhibition, with the ball held in the crypts of the Guildhall.

These photos came from SoulStealer so were a bit delayed, but worth the wait.

But I found a crow friend!

And another crow-friend! ;)

I honestly can't remember what me and The Prof were discussing here.

The beaded capey thing came from River Island, the ever splendid Wyte Phantom made the skirt and corset for me. (This seems to be a common question I was asked on the night by random strangers!)
