(no subject)

You may remember these tower blocks from my May Day Stroll in 2005.

The tower blocks last year.

Well I was walking to work this morning...

See them now!

Bitey Bite!Palm Trees and Destruction.

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGHHHHH! Liverpool is under attack by a Giant woman in a corset!

Aaarrrgh Giant!

(Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] karohemd and [livejournal.com profile] becky_spence for that last pic.)

Oh, that is excellent. :o)
Now we need to find a similar photo of Tokyo...

[identity profile] motodraconis.livejournal.com 2006-05-31 02:00 pm (UTC)(link)
We could pretend it's Tokyo, a rather shabby, scally, grotty part.

Hehehe. :o)

Oh, you're missing the lasers from the eyes. The angle would be perfect.

I may add a bit more if I have time late tonight, t'was a rush job as I've got a lot on this week.

But when I saw that gnawed building... it just had to be done!

[identity profile] karohemd.livejournal.com 2006-05-31 02:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Looking forward to the result. :o)

Kewl!

Wish they'd do that to these towers...and decant everyone to wholesome seaside cottages (near London, natch-) with loads of power plugs and storage space!

They've been replaced with some rather natty little bungalows, the area is actually looking quite cozy and nice.
Whether the people in the blocks got moved to the nice new bits or the new builds were sold off to private buyers for exhorbitant monies I don't know.

That looks a lot like my flat in the first pic. And we always thouth we'd be safe from disaster ;D

I think they're getting rid of all the towers close to Liverpool center, Capital of Culture and wotnot. There was a fab semi-demied block in Woolton, it looked like a Godzilla had taken a massive bite out of it, but by the time I got back there with a camera it had completely gone.
Managed to grab snaps of this 'un though, so I'm all happy now.

*nods* There's a nice one on the train line on the way to Manchester that has all the exterior stripped off. Some bits arecovered with tarpaulins, but it looks almost naked. Sadly I didn't have the camera with me that time!

*giggles* wee! Fear my city-stomping POWERS!!

Saw this devastation last night on the way back from Life Drawing and made a point of leaving the house extra early the next day to grab snaps... I did think of your pic at the time of first sighting of the mayhem!
(Grin.)

I think you should use it on your website. Corsets to demolish buildings in...

That's not the tower blocks near Sefton Park is it? My mum & dad live in Lancaster Avenue there, if it's the ones I'm thinking of... mind you there could well be a whole bunch of tower blocks in L'pool that I don't know, cos Sefton Park is pretty much the only bit I know well!

[identity profile] motodraconis.livejournal.com 2006-05-31 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Na, these are near Wavertree, but I suspect the Sefton Park ones may have already been demolished. There's definately a huge air of rebuilding and renewal about Liverpool at the moment, which ain't such a bad thing; the place is in need of a good bucking up and a bit of cash flung around.
